Parenting and The Excitement of Gaming

It’s been an action-packed 15 months with my first son. Parenting is far more rewarding than I could ever have imagined. He surprises me every day with new skills or improvements in existing skills. There have been plenty of ups, but a few scary downs. Parenting isn’t sunshine and rainbows. But the lows can be almost debilitating. Sometimes things happen that you cannot fix and you’re an onlooker. We’ve had to take him to out-of-hours GPs a few times and which scared me. No one prepares you for that side of parenting, only the lack of sleep. And the unconditional love you have for your little one.

Gaming I Hardly Knew Ya’

Gaming has taken a backseat, but I would say it is as important to me as ever. From when I get up to around 9 PM my life is nonstop. When I have my own time, I have only a few hours to dedicate to a game. That means any big RPGs have been postponed until I have more time. I’m enjoying the Nintendo Switch as well as indie titles on the PC.

I’ve been getting review copies of games to play and review. They have been indie titles that do not need a high-performance PC. But one game I did have to load with low graphics on. Unfortunately, the state of graphics cards is that it’s impossible to get a semi-decent GPU. At least without spending a small fortune.
eBay is my current friend. As of writing, I’ve bid on a GTX 1080, which should at least run all the titles I am interested in playing. Currently running with a GTX 760, which has been enough for most games.

Looking Forward

I am looking forward to the release of Suicide Squad, Kill The Justice League. As well as the Saints Row reboot. For Suicide Squad, I will need at least a GTX 960, and I do not want to miss out on it on release day. Yes, there will be bugs but I don’t want the story spoiled or the gameplay. I would consider getting one of the Limited Editions. Since it’s made by the same people who developed the Arkham games. Which are the best games I’ve ever played. I have until next year to secure a better graphics card and I’m hoping the used one I’m buying hasn’t been used for Crypto.

So that’s all for this update. I haven’t played any new games, and I’m still writing up my next feature on Konami or I’ll have an idea on something else. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
The question of the day is: What games are you looking forward to in the future?
